Blue Sky
I haven't posted much hip hop lately, because frankly I haven't been impressed with a lot of it. Leave it to my man Common though to always produce top grade stuff. His latest single "Blue Sky" off the upcoming album The Dreamer / The Believer is exactly that.

And if you haven't heard Common's other recent single "Ghetto Dreams" you'll definitely want to check that now.

Nate Mezmer
Not only is my good friend Nate Mezmer one of the masterminds behind San Francisco's major event production company EyeHeart SF, he's also a skilled MC. Evidence... the brand new, very smooth "World's Too Big" and his flip of Weezy's lights out "6 Foot 7 Foot".

Beat The System
My good friend and fellow 99.7 NOW mixshow DJ The Les just released his new project "Beat The System" on which he collaborated with a slew of top notch DJ's and producers. If you're a fan of hip hop, this is an essential download. My current favorite track is The Les' own "Greedy" - a killer blend of B.I.G. over the spaced out "Beamer Benz or Bentley" beat.

I'm Loaded
One of the best R&B/soul samples I've heard flipped in a long time... E-40's son Droop-E brings back Sade's classic track "War of the Hearts." Love this.

Galvanize (CAMS Short Edit)
Originally released in 2004, this collab between The Chemical Brothers and Q-Tip is one of my favorites. Always a difficult track to mix though, until now...

Christian Dior Denim Flow (CAMS short edit)
Amidst all the new material Kanye has released in recent weeks, this track remains one of my favorites. In DJ terms, (although some will find it useful) the original version transitions from 96 to 88 bpm halfway through, and has a 4-bar instrumental beat in the middle as well. So I laced up this short DJ edit adding an intro/outro and keeping the Yeezy and Pusha T verses as well as 2 hooks at 96 bpm... Bang it.

Jay-Z vs. Focus
The homie Chris Clouse turned me on to this one...
Super bootleg of HOV's "Pray" and Focus' "Hocus Pocus" by Trafik. You're listening to this track saying "Ok, this is dope" then you get to minute 1:26 and you realize why I had to post this.

Drive It Like You Stole It (King Fantastic rmxxx)
The Glitch Mob are fierce, and I'm a fan. So when I came across this King Fantastic remix of "Drive It Like You Stole It" on which West Coast MC Killer Reese One adds very fine lyrics, I was sold. An amazing track made even better.
