Yeah, we've all heard the original 10,000 times. Salt-N-Pepa's single is a true party rocker. However, I'm sure you DJ's and clubbers have noticed that the original is structurally confusing, with a lot of lags in the middle of the song that are really annoying.
I totally re-worked the track in this new edit and I think it breathes new life into the classic. Oh yeah, and it's dance floor certified (after I dropped it hot on the turns this past Saturday night). Enjoy.
So you want that NEW NEW, that hot ish, that new fire? Enter Major Lazer, perhaps the heaviest DJ/producer tag team ever: Diplo and Switch.
Their leadoff track "Hold the Line" featuring Mr. Lexx and Santogold is unlike perhaps anything you have ever heard. But. It will probably become your summer dance anthem.
Your favorite disc jockey should be playing this very soon in all your favorite spots...I can tell you that I WILL be playing this tonight at Mr. Smith's in SF. Come say what's up!
This is exactly the kind of thing I love. Fire hot dance beats, with on-point hip hop flow. Wish MSTRKRFT had put more beats like this on their latest...
Karen O and co. are back at it again. On the remix tip, as much as I love MSTRKRFT, didn't really feel their take on the first single "Zero." This one - from the talented duo N.A.S.A. - however, is hot.
I saw this on a few blogs but for some reason didn't jump on it like I should have. My bad.
But with a head's up from my good friends - the amazing artist Maria and best of SF DJ Sam Isaac - I realized how hot this track is.
Are you kidding??? Kid Cudi, Kanye, and Common flowing over scratches by A-Trak, flipping the famous Lady Gaga beat? Add this to your playlist immediately.
You've probably never heard of London MC Tinie Tempah. However, best believe that after this track starts catching more ears, dude will be a club mainstay.
Featuring a dope M.I.A. sample on the chorus, this track is exactly what the intro says it is: "Sweatin, roastin, boilin, bakin, swelterin, it's like a sauna..."
That's all you need to know. Add this heat to your life.
I'm not totally sure how to describe this track to you, except to say that it is epic. I'll admit, though, that at first listen you might say, "What the hell???" But give it a minute. Then I hope you'll agree with me that this is one of the most creative things to drop in dance music since the Audio Bullys took Nancy Sinatra for a ride.
Here, Sharam (a.k.a. one half of Deep Dish) teams up with hipster MC Kid Cudi to flip a Patsy Cline country sample (what?!) into...just listen.
of my grandfather...Lieutenant General Richard M. Scott.
